Weekly Report

This is the Weekly Report:

Report's have been given out, also our class placements for next year. Some people have been praised richly and others, well thats another story...! Well, anyway, some people have been happy with their class or sad and some don't really mind.

Recently we have been talking about aliens and UFO's, all because of Alex's talk on the question: Is there life on other planets? Lots of people talked about absolute rubbish! It was quite funny to hear what Victor and Tyler had to say!

It's almost the end of the year! It's so funny to see how much people have changed in the last five years! Next year, though,we are going to be the big people of the school. Also next year will be our chance to be Head Boy,Head Girl,Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy.

Our Big Day In is on Tuesday. If it's warm, there will be a slip and slide, also there is free sausages and other activities.

Well, thats all for now.

Weekly Report

This is the Weekly Report:

Mr. Williams has been doing the reports. All of us have been very nice to him over the past couple of weeks. Flynn has been bribing him with fudge! Yikes!

We have been doing a lot of sport lately. We have played: Non-stop cricket and American Football.

Last week four of us went to Young Writers Workshop with Elizabeth from the School for Young Writers. We had a previous workshop with Elizabeth in term two to start off our stories and this workshop was to edit them some more, to make them better and try to finish them. The selected students from our class were: Sinead, Ella, Chrissy and Victor. Last Thursday we had a session in the staff room where we read extracts to the parents, relatives and Ms. Warren.

Weekly Report

This is the weekly report.

This week was Book Week!! A lot of our books in the office were sold to many of St Albans' children. Author Ben Brown came in to talk to us about how life is being an author. We discovered that it is hard work and you don't get paid enough. Also on Thursday, we had a book parade, where you had to dress up a a book character. I, Brooke dressed up as Cinderella from Cinderella. And I, Chrissy, dressed up as a Vampire from Darren Shan : Vampires Assistant.

Because on Friday it was Show Day, we had a day off school, everyone was sobbing bitterly!

Callum is trying to stop pointing, nodding and slumping. He is trying his best!!!!!

As we get closer to the end of the year Mr.Williams is writing the reports. Much flattery is going on in room 25.

Weekly Report

This is the Weekly Report:
We are back from camp!! That Wednesday morning was very exciting for lots of people. The activities we did were;
Biking,Rock climbing, orienteering,Mission Impossible, climbing Conical Hill and then the hot pools and Games and free time. The food we ate was very yummy and it kept us going! Thank you to all the parents for the home baking! On the first night we played spotlight. We had to get to a certain tree. The first group got the wrong tree and thought they had won. Then they all got spotlighted by the parent and teachers and had to go back to the start. When we were heading to Hamner we went through Woodend,Amberley,Culverden,Waipara and some others we can't remember! I (Ella) was in a cabin with Chrissy.,Brooke and Sinead. Calvin was with Oliver,Callum H,Flynn and Ben.It was very exciting and we can't stop thanking the parents who were brave enough to come along.

Two days ago we had a our syndicate athletics. We did long and high jump, discus, shotput and sprints.Later on we had class and teacher/parent relays. Both our teams for our class won! Our relay teams were made up of Brooke,me,Chloe and Chrissy (girls) and the boys team was Tyler,Callum H,Flynn and Lucas. We had lunch late.It was very fun but very tiring!!

This is all for now as we can't think of much more.

Weekly Report

This is the Weekly Report:

Camp is in two days and we are all very excited! The Years 6's have just left and seemed very excited. We don't blame them!Sometimes the excitement is unbearable! We definitely are extremely excited. Please remember to name everything very clearly because we do not want 13 children crying because they can't find their socks or their teddy or something like that!

As we get closer to athletics day we start practicing more and more it looks like we have some pretty talented athletes in our class. We have found out quite a lot of people like long and high jump.

On the 14th of October we had the Music Festival.People came from far and wide (well not exactly that...) to watch us perform. It went from 7.30pm to 9.35pm.As I said to Mr. Williams,I do not want to get a job in the music business .

Prepared Talks

Victor did his prepared talk today. It was on chocolate.

Weekly Report

This is the Weekly Report:

Camp is coming even closer and we are getting more and more prepared. We know what tribe we're in,whose car we're going in and what activities we're doing. We all think it will be fun and a definite challenge.

On Wednesday we had a school Commonwealth games our class was Northern Ireland we came second and England came first! Samoa came 3rd.

Recently we have been practicing for the athletics. We are all getting better, apart from James whose behaviour was appalling in some of the events!

There have been a few aftershocks this week they where shocking! Also very scary!

Friday sport teams have been chosen and it will be very exciting to see how they get on!

On Thursday we had an earthquake drill. It was a rush when we were going out the door.My finger got stuck in the door!!Ouch!

Weekly Report

This is the weekly report:
This week we are having a mini Commonwealth Games. We will be separated into two teams with Room 3.There will be lots of different sports which I don't know the names of,and I think it will be very fun.

Last week we got a letter from a school in the north island saying hope you're okay from the earthquake and today we will be writing back to them.

As the aftershocks continue, its still a bit worrying to be back at school. Lots of people got affected quite a lot by it, Mikhael, fleeing as he said, to Wellington. Callum H got trapped in his room, quite scary experience for him!I had just being in the loo before it started! Lots of people lost chimneys and some lost homes to this 7.1 earthquake. Lots of families were lucky, they only sustained minor damage, but some have had to have their houses demolished. Knowing now that you always have to be prepared, having torches, bottled water an a few other things will help if there ever is a big on like that ever again.

As camp is getting closer we're getting more and more ready for it. We already know who we're bunking with. Most of us cant wait for camp because we have so many exciting things we're going to do there. It will be heaps of fun!

There are now some choices of sport to do and one of them is a game for deep thinkers, apparently. No,not cricket, not touch but softball or tee ball.Apparently tee ball is a game for deep thinkers, unlike cricket, according to Mr. Williams.Well,in touch, you have to run around most of the time and you have to think who you pass to and stuff like that.So you have to think in touch too!

Weekly Report

This is the weekly report:
This week we've had 2 birthdays. Sinead Washington and Ella Boot. We're still waiting for our cake but for now happy birthday.

As time ticks closer to camp,we have began to talk about it more.Thank you to all the parents who were brave enough to put their name forwards. We are all lookng foward to it.

As Mr. Williams keeps going on about runathon money more and more people are bringing it in. Take Callum Ross for example he raised 172 dollars and 20 cents, wow that's impressive.

We have been doing more and more exercise as the weather has been getting nicer. It is sort of like spring now! Well, sometimes anyway.

This week we have been writing letters to our parents asking for something we would like to have its going well, we'll let you know how its going soon.

Recently we have been using the pods to research the questions that we asked about India.Alok has been a massive help to us!He drew a map of India and labeled a lot of cities.

On Wednesday we went out to see the Kapa Haka team practise for their competition on Saturday, they were brilliant, fantastic, amazing and the Junior team did a few songs too.

On Wednesday Mrs Bateman came into our class to "inspect" us! She only did it because she wanted to check the rumors that we were the best looking class in the world.Obviously we were all very good-looking (apart from Callum Ross).
